lFirst time being on the other side of the lens with no control over the settings?
Unsure on how to pose or where to look or which side of yours looks best on camera?
A single word that inspired you to book a photoshoot but not much else to go off from?
Worry not! Here I will give you a mock process from start to finish of what your session with me will look like.
Step #1: Consultation
- We will talk over the phone or email or in-person depending on your preference, in order to discuss your initial ideas and plans for your photoshoot, and I will be keeping notes.
- Based on my notes I will create a moodboard that I think both fits your expectations as well as expands on your ideas for the photoshoot. That moodboard can include images from makeup, hair, and posing inspiration to color schemes, songs and textures.
- I highly recommend you start collecting example images, colors, songs, whatever inspires you and gives you food for thought for your concept before we talk so you can have a good idea of what you want your result from your time with me to be like!
- This is the time that you should let me know what and where you will be using the images for, such as for social media, commercial or private use, as well as if you are planning on having one photo printed as a gift to someone for instance.
- After the consultation, if you want the photoshoot to happen in-studio, you must book the Swiss Photo Club studio in Plainpalais yourself.
Step #2: Day Of The Photoshoot
- You will come in to the Swiss Photo Club studio in Plainpalais at the appointed time. It is now time to get you ready for the shoot!
- The photo setup will be ready for you before you walk in.
- We can put on a playlist of yours to help you feel more at ease in this new environment.
- I will guide you on where to sit or stand in the frame, and I will do some test shots to see where light hits you the best for the result we are trying to achieve.
- Once you 'get in the zone' time passes fairly quickly, and when needed we can take breaks, especially during longer shoots.
Step #3: What Comes After
- After the end of our photoshoot, I will import the images to Lightroom, select the best shots from each look and do some preliminary editing (e.g. white balance & contrast)
- Then, I will send you those images so that you can pick your favorites from the selection (depending on number of images corresponding to your package). When you send me your picks, I will fully edit them
Step #4: Receiving Your Final Images
- Once I have finished editing all of your selected images, I will share them to you digitally.
- As soon as you receive them, I will ask you to leave a short review of your experience being photographed by me, which is not necessary to leave but highly welcomed.
- And that was it! The seemingly intimidating process becomes less so when broken down to smaller parts doesn't it?
